2023 Independence Day Parade

The 7th Annual Independence Day Parade is in the books and the entrants were spectacular! The creativity of the Chapman Lakes community did not disappoint. Adults, children, families and friends lined the sides of Chapman Lake Drive to watch the parade and collect candy, beads and fresh hot dogs. There were 22 entrants celebrating multiple “Holidays at the Lake”: Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras, Veterans Day, Easter, Thanksgiving just to name a few. The parade was led by the Leesburg Fire Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Grand Marshall, Gibsen Claxton, winner of the kid’s t-shirt contest. A shout out to Kelly Smith who decorated and let us use her car to lead the parade and to Nici Lambright who so graciously photographed the parade. This year’s judges included: Andrew Gorssnickle, President of TWF Board, Paige Hubner, Office Manager of TWF and Rusty Martinez, Assistant Director of Marketing at the Lilly Center. A great big “THANK YOU” to everyone who participated and to all who came out to celebrate holidays at Chapman Lakes.

The CLCA appreciates the excitement and support of this annual parade tradition and look forward to another spectacular experience next year as we attend, “Movies on the Lake”. Get your creative minds thinking and we will see you next year at the movies.
