(Click here for a 1999-2005 Project Summary) We're on top of issues like the levee repair…Aquatic plants...Help us with your donation.
In just 5 years, nearly $500,000 has been committed through 2006 to help your lakes and your lake property! Are YOU helping? EVERYONE BENEFITS! Funds are now urgently needed for the anticipated high cost to continue control of invasive aquatic plants. And, in 2007, we anticipate a $120,000 cost for needed sediment dredging at watershed inlets. The foundation is a separate non-profit organization specifically set up to finance lake enhancement efforts and construction with your contributions. Organized in 2001 by members of Chapman Lakes Conservation Association, Inc., the Chapman Lakes Foundation, Inc., is responsible for raising the funds necessary to carry out major lake enhancement projects benefiting Chapman Lakes. Contributions to the foundation, in whatever form, may be deducted on the donor's tax return as a tax-deductible charitable contribution. (Please consult your tax advisor.) It's your lake! You can help it, or, hurt it. Current projects identified for funding include the Crooked Creek (completed), Arrowhead, (completed) Lozier, (study complete) and Highland Park (design/build project now funded) watersheds as well as more than a dozen roadside storm drains, all contributing to various kinds of pollution flowing into the Chapman Lakes. And, a strategic lakes management plan unlike any other is also underway. In 2001, the foundation embarked on a five-year program to fund more than $600,000 in needed projects to protect the two Chapman Lakes from further water quality deterioration. But, the cost in today's dollars nears $900,000. If every one of the 716 property owners at Chapman Lakes made a $250 tax-deductible gift to the foundation each year, we would quickly reach our five-year priority list goal and could continue with weed control, dredging… and more... every single year!
